Vol.II No. 23

Liberal Leadership Race Re-ignited Department: (aka: Stephan, watch your back Department)
So, Stephane Dion took a few hits yesterday. Some of his caucus members either went missing for the big vote on security matters, or abstained from the vote. By Wednesday there was a lineup of Liberals using words like "extremist" to describe their noble leader. Michael Ignatieff got himself a ton of face-time on the Commons floor, and the usual talk-fests on the three networks. Bob Rae is conspicuously available to any journalist who’ll listen to him wax eloquent on all the good things he’s done for our planet. Astute observers of these three items could be forgiven for thinking the Liberal Leadership is up for grabs one more time.

Faith and Bones Department:
On March 4 The Discovery Channel will air a documentary, produced by James Cameron, that suggests bones found some years ago could be those of Jesus and His family. Throughout time, Science and Spirituality have been uncomfortable with each other, and this is no exception. Seems to this observer that if one’s faith is based solely on scientific evidence it defies any reasonable definition of faith.
There’s a Canadian connection to this story: The program was directed by Toronto’s Simcha Jacobovici.
